The problem

Building a comprehensive logistics and shipment tracking platform comes with its unique set of challenges — fragmented APIs, inconsistent carrier integrations, real-time location tracking, and user experience optimization across diverse devices. One of the most significant hurdles was ensuring precise tracking synchronization and scalability during high-order volumes. Our team tackled these issues by engineering a modular backend architecture, integrating robust third-party APIs for real-time updates, and implementing a dynamic queue system to manage traffic spikes efficiently. User engagement was another focus — we designed intuitive dashboards for both vendors and customers, ensuring visibility and control throughout the shipment journey. Data security and failover readiness were prioritized to ensure uninterrupted service. Through strategic planning, agile development cycles, and rigorous testing, we delivered a responsive, scalable, and secure logistics platform that empowers businesses to meet the demands of modern e-commerce delivery. What made it hard

Carrier integrations are fragmented and inconsistent, and tracking has to stay synchronised exactly when order volume spikes. The hard part was never the happy path — it was staying accurate when traffic arrives in bursts and one upstream API starts timing out.

How we built it

  • A modular backend, so one part can be changed or fail without taking the rest with it.
  • Third-party carrier APIs integrated for live status rather than periodic manual updates.
  • A dynamic queue system to absorb traffic spikes instead of falling over on them.
  • Separate dashboards for vendors and for customers, each showing only what that side needs to act on.
  • Failover readiness, so tracking survives a dependency going down.
